Fight Club Versus the Marathon Lane
Made this up with some of training buddies. Editing suggestions to enhance the humor are welcome.
The first rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club.
The first rule of the Marathon Lane is: You do not talk about your next big swim.
The second rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club.
The second rule of the Marathon Lane is: You do not talk about your next big swim.
Third rule of Fight Club: someone yells stop, goes limp, taps out, the fight is over.
Third rule of the Marathon Lane: someone yells stop, goes limp, taps out, they get a five-minute break.
Fourth rule: only two guys to a fight.
Fourth rule: do not follow too close, this is not the triathlon lane.
Fifth rule: one fight at a time.
Fifth rule: swim one set at a time.
Sixth rule: no shirts, no shoes.
Sixth rule: fins, paddles and pull buoys are acceptable but are not encouraged.
Seventh rule: fights will go on as long as they have to.
Seventh rule: workouts will go on as long as Kathleen says.
And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight.
And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time in the Marathon Lane you have to finish the workout.
