don't laugh at me for thinking it may be true, i need help from the collective. I'm a pale girl who swims slow and doesn't like zinc...i have to ask if anyone has tried UVO or have any info on the product?

No. Even UVOs link to the AAD states that it should not be used as a replacement for sunscreen. They don't state any level of UV protection.

Ahh Janine my favorite topic. I looked into this a bit - I would NEVER go without sunscreen but I've used supplements before long swims to hopefully get a bit of extra protection - Oenobiol solaire and Heliocare are 2 I've used, or just eating a lot of carrots and tomatoes is supposed to help. Imagine UVO is similar, not sure how you could test if it works though as I wouldn't be willing to get burned to try. Zinc isn't ideal but it's better than the creature from the black lagoon suit :)
