Well done David on your Jersey circumnavigation!
Just so we don't cause any diplomatic incidents with a new man in our Foreign Office,, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man are part of the British Isles. England, Scotland and Wales make up Great Britain, while the United Kingdom includes Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Jersey is a British Crown Dependency.
Stunning photo! And another interesting swim.
@david_barra: What was the impetus to do this particular swim?
This island is beautiful with an incredibly active and supportive open water swimming community. The honor roll of successful swimmers list includes many who have inspired me.
Check out the Jersey Long Distance Swim Club for more information on possible swims.
The dramatic landscape is accentuated by the enormous tidal differential.
I'll try to do a proper write up in the next couple of days
...anything worth doing is worth overdoing.
@david_barra: Thanks! The aesthetics invite, the tides challenge, the OW community supports! (Somehow I knew it wasn't Joisey from the background of the photo.)
Will look forward to a writeup. - Thanks!
Congratulations David!
It is, indeed, a spectacular swim. Did you see dolphins on your swim?
The website for anyone interested is www.jerseyseaswims.org
Crew saw Dolphins
I saw anchovies.
...anything worth doing is worth overdoing.
Congrats, Dave!
But I have to ask, "Who wore it better?"
Stop me if you've heard this one...
