For those who are looking for a "welcome to open water swimming" event, the Thetis Lake Swim (Victoria, Canada) is just around the corner and will be held on July 23.

This year is our 25th anniversary. There are 4 distances to choose from: 800m, 1.5km, 3km and 5km. When I first began open water swimming as an adult it was at the Thetis Lake Swim. It is a gentle swim for those who are new to the sport.
