November 3rd is going to be a big day for marathon swimming in Southern California. The CCSF and SBCSA will both hold their respective annual banquets in San Pedro!

You don't need to have swum the Catalina or Santa Barbara Channels, this year or any other year, to attend these banquets, or to find them interesting experiences!

The CCSF banquet kicks off at 10am at the Doubletree Hotel. A social hour will be followed by brunch, followed by an awards ceremony honoring new record-holder Gracie van der Byl, and all the 2012 Catalina swimmers.

You can view/print the invitation here:

Later on, the SBCSA will hold their banquet less than two miles away at the Green Onion Restaurant. Happy hour will begin at 6pm, followed by:
- dinner
- special guest speaker, David Yudovin
- a screening of a brand-new trailer for the upcoming marathon swimming documentary, DRIVEN
- awards and remarks by the successful Santa Barbara Channel swimmers of 2012 (hear Tina Neill talk about her incredible, unprecedented 52-mile swim from San Clemente Island!)

The SBCSA invitation is here:

It's also very likely that there will be a group swim in the Pacific Ocean in the afternoon, between the two banquets.

You won't want to miss it.
