Marathon Swimming song

I listen to an internet radio station (103.1 in LA) at night, and last night I heard this song, and thought perhaps this is the perfect song, or at least perfect lyrics, for marathon swimmers.
Granted, I'm not the sharpest tool in the chest, so I'm probably missing some deeper meaning, but jeez...
Group is Frightened Rabbit and the song is Swim Until You Can't See Land. Here are the lyrics:

Group is Frightened Rabbit and the song is Swim Until You Can't See Land. Here are the lyrics:
We salute at the threshold of the North Sea
in my mind
And a nod to the boredom that drove me here
to face the tide and swim
(Whoaaaa) I swim (Whoaaa) oh swim (Whoaaa)
Dip the toe in the ocean. Oh how it hardens and it numbs.
And the rest of me is a version of man
built to collapse into crumbs
And if I hadn’t come down
To the coast to disappear
I may have died in a land-slide
Of the rocks, the hopes and fears.
So swim until you can’t see land.
Swim until you can’t see land.
Swim until you can’t see land
Are you a man or are you a bag of sand?
Swim until you can’t see land
Swim until you can’t see land
Swim until you can’t see land
Are you a man or are you a bag of sand?
Up to my knees now, do I wait? Do I dive?
The sea has seen my like before though it’s my first
And perhaps last time.
Let’s call me a baptist, call this the drowning of the past
She’s there on the shoreline
Throwing stones at my back
So swim until you can’t see land
Swim until you can’t see land
Swim until you can’t see land
Are you a man or are you a bag of sand?
Swim until you can’t see land
Swim until you can’t see land
Swim until you can’t see land
Are you a man or are you a bag of sand?
Now the water’s taller than me
And the land is a marker line
All I am is a body adrift in water, salt and sky
So swim until you can’t see land
Swim until you can’t see land
Swim until you can’t see land
Are you a man or are you a bag of sand?
Swim until you can’t see land
Swim until you can’t see land
Swim until you can’t see land
Are you a man or are you a bag of sand?
We're all just carbon, water, starlight, oxygen and dreams

C'mon and Swim by Bobby Freeman
C'mon everybody come on it!
Bobby's gonna show you how to do the swim
[Short Instrumental]
Kinda like the monkey
Kinda like the twist
Pretend you're in the water
And you go like this...
Now baby swim!
Baby do the swim!
Just like the dog but not so low
Like the hully gully but not so slow
Now baby swim!
Baby do the swim!
Do what you wanna
Do like you wish
C'mon baby now and swim like a fish
Now baby swim!
Baby c'mon in!
Shake it up baby twist and shout
A do the swim baby now work it on out
Now baby swim!
Baby do the swim!
Do what ya wanna a-it's alright
Cause Bobby's gonna teach ya how to swim tonight

Title: A Long Dream
Lyrics to A Long Dream :
i had a long...
i had a long...
i had a long dream
i had a long dream about swimming--
across the sea
where were you swimming to?
it was to the other shore
what were you swimming away from?
i can't stay with you no more.
i had a long...
i had a long...
i had a long dream
i had a long dream about swimming--
across the sea
