The MSF Navigator Award recognizes extraordinary contributions to the advancement of the sport of solo marathon swimming. The award is irregular (non-annual) and is selected by the Charter Members of the Marathon Swimmers Forum.

The inaugural Navigator Award was presented to MSF co-founder Evan Morrison for leading the Marathon Swimmers Federation and the Santa Barbara Channel Swimming Association, and developing:

• the Marathon Swimmers Forum (co-founder)
• the MSF Rules of Marathon Swimming (co-author)
• MSF Documented Swims - ratification of independent solo swims
• track.rs - GPS tracking service
• LongSwimsDB - historical marathon swim results database
